About the Role:
We are hiring a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day financial operations for our US Real Estate portfolio. You will own the full accounting cycle for multiple US property entities, ensure US GAAP compliance, and partner directly with our US-based CFO and Asset Management teams. This is a leadership role with a growing team in India.
Key Responsibilities
- Core Accounting & Close: Own end-to-end accounting operations — General Ledger, AP, AR, and financial reporting. Drive accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for US entities under US GAAP
- Financial Reporting & Controls: Prepare, review, and analyze US GAAP financial statements. Establish and strengthen internal controls, SOX compliance, and regulatory adherence for US real estate operations
- Audit & Tax Coordination: Lead external audits, manage auditor requests, and coordinate with US tax advisors for provision and compliance filings
- Process & Automation: Identify and drive process improvements, automation of reconciliations, and efficiency initiatives across the accounting function
- Real Estate Specifics: Oversee property-level accounting including CAM reconciliations, lease accounting (ASC 842), and multi-entity consolidations for real estate funds/property management
- MIS & Analytics: Lead MIS reporting, dashboards, and management packs. Deliver actionable financial insights to US senior leadership for decision-making
- Cross-Functional Partner: Collaborate daily with US Operations, Asset Management, and FP&A teams. Act as the India accounting lead for new client onboarding
Qualifications & Requirements
Mandatory:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance. CPA or CA preferred
- Experience: 10-15 years progressive accounting experience with 3-5+ years in a people management role
- US GAAP Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience in US accounting and month-end close under US GAAP is mandatory
- Real Estate Domain: Mandatory 3-5 years of experience in US real estate — property management accounting, real estate funds, development, or REITs
- Systems: Hands-on experience with Yardi, QuickBooks, or similar ERP. Yardi strongly preferred
- Excel: Advanced Excel required — must be expert in pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data modeling, and financial statements

- Proven ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Leadership presence with experience mentoring junior accountants
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multi-entity, multi-state US consolidations
- Deep knowledge of CAM reconciliations, property tax, ASC 842 lease accounting
- MIS automation experience — Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel dashboards
- Prior experience in a US KPO/BPO supporting real estate clients
